New Lilac PSP With Hannah Montana Bundle
Cute huh? Yeah, don't get excited. To get your well manicured lil fingers on this PSP, you'll have to put up with a whole lotta sexism.
Sony is releasing this gorgous silver-lilac PSP as the center of a Hannah Montana Entertainment Pack labeled "part of a new focus on expanding the PSP market to female gamers." (Really?!? You mean the girls get to play now? Oh, thank you Sony! If you hadn't come out with a lilac colored PSP, I wouldn't have ever known that I too, vagina and all, could enjoy a PSP!) For $200, you get Disney Interactive's Hannah Montana PSP game, a selection episodes from the Hannah Montana TV series on UMD, a 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, and stickers.
That really grinds my gears. You know what female gamers like even more than nice colors and brilliant accessories? Not being patronized. I'm 25 fucking years old. What would someone like me want with a Hannah Montana package? In fact, girls of Hannah Montana age are not of I Have My Own PSP age. And packaging the device with such a snoozer non-game only serves to reinforce the idea that "real" games aren't for girls. I started on Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and moved on up. I can't imagine what happens to little girls that start on titles like America's Next Top Model and Barbie. They probably grow up into Stepford Wives someday.

As another 25-year-old female gamer who loves colourful stuff and hates being patronised, I salute you!
Good to know that others exist! Thank you for making me smile today!
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE bright colors. Sad that they could have packaged this in a much less offensive way. Especially because I heard a lot of guys say they wouldn't mind owning this color!
OMFG, is this for real?? Hannah Montana? Really? (now I have "Really? with Seth and Amy" in my head) Way to piss off and alienate 51% of American consumers, Sony. Nice.
I know, right? Like I said, girls of Hannah Montana age are not of I Have My Own PSP age. They'd be better off asking REAL women what they want from their handheld consoles. They really should start reading Gamer Grrlz lol
Wow, even more of a reason for me to dislike the psp *sigh*....I actually thought of giving it a chance...
I think this may be a "I want the boys to like me so I'll do what they do 'mommmmyyy can i have a psp????'" sort of thing. Good lord if I could hate it to death I would.
