Beyonce DSi Commercial

The DSi is officially here! And to celebrate, they got...Beyonce. O-kay. I guess.

I don't like having to feel meh about their spokespeople. Beyonce is a strong woman and a decent role model but a diva bitch in real life. Yuck. It would have been adorable to see the Obama children, but that would have been exploitative. I liked America Ferrera's campaign, and Lisa Kudrow's. I like it when they use "real" women in general. And I'm not sure Beyonce is it. I think I have bra inserts that are less fake than Beyonce.

It would be nice to see Jennifer Hudson, or Lily Allen. Sure, Lily has a sass mouth and is a less than ideal role model, but at least she's a standout example of one value that we as women should hold dear: our right and ability to be as unique, interesting, or witty as any man professes to be. And Bey is too busy singing about love and how your relationship isn't legitimate unless you "put a ring on it" to be an example of a feminist ideal. Yeah, I'll take a Lily over Beyonce any day.

Who would you like most to see in a Nintendo campaign?

I'd rather see no celebrity endorsement at all actually. (See previous Metallica post comment, LOL) I understand that Nintendo (and any other company) is trying in bring in the unwashed masses by using celebrities but Beyonce? Puleeze! Yuck yuck and yuck.

I agree. Its almost as if they use celebrities because they can't figure out how else to get across the demographic they wish to attract. The ONE time I've seen them do it well was with the Animal Crossings campaign.

No I haven't, sadly. Anyone know if there's a demo through the Wii? I should just check.
