Tingle Now Starring In Not One, But TWO Games...Sadly, NA Players Get None
Relative newcomer to the Legend of Zelda series Tingle is getting not one, but TWO games in Japan. In fact, thanks to the speed of DSiWare, one is already out!
There was a drawn out teaser campaign these past few weeks, featuring a cryptic site that hinted to a future Tingle related title (I spared you the drama since it was on Nintendo Japan, not Nintendo America), but this double dose comes as a surprise. The first, entitled Dekisugi Tingle Pack is:
"...a collection of five "tools": a tarot card fortune teller that predicts your love and financial fortune, a timer featuring alerts from a robot Tingle, a calculator which can be used to split the bill unevenly (in case you want to play gentleman or boss), a music program where a marionette Tingle dances to music in front of your DSi pictures, and a coin game that's playable by up to 20. Priced at 500 DSi Points." via IGN
Yikes, in other words, a fluff game that North American players would bitch about incessantly. Dodged a bullet there. I like Tingle, but not enough to see his marionette ass dancing over grainy pictures I shot on my DSi. The second, Color Changing Tingle's Balloon Trip Of Love, is a sequel to Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland (also a Japan-only release, but without the benefit of a weeks-long teaser campaign), only instead of collecting rupees...you collect...girls? Details are fuzzy but it seems Tingle has decided he needs love. Hopefully it comes in a big pink fairy-wings-wearing package.
Since Tingle doesn't test well on US audiences (American reviewers despise an effeminate, green tights-clad wearing pansy who's still obsessed with fairies at the age of 35. Go fig) there's pretty much no chance these will be released in the US. Still, its always nice to see what Japan is doing with their time, right?
I would have played the first one on the DS had it been released. We'll see what happens with the second. I'm hoping with some North America support, they might consider it.
Since there are so few details even on Japan's end of things, I must leave you with these fruity ass pics of Tingle from his earlier DS title and screenshots of a teaser magazine ad.

That thing looks creepy as hell! Is he supposed to be an alcoholic midget, with that big red nose??
LOL it would certainly explain his potbelly and silly obsession with fairies! The midget man is drunk!
