My Custom Castle Crasher Pixel Sprite Perler Project

Remember aforementioned Castle Crashers kick? Still on and goin' strong. I was pleasantly surprised to receive my bead order from Blue N Dash a few days ago, much sooner than expected and virtually crammed into my mail delivery slot. Nuka seemed to be even more excited than I was, though for different reasons of course:

I figure since the whole bead order fit in my mail slot, that means by the transitive property, Nuka can also fit in my mail slot. I must use this to my advantage...but HOW? HOOOOOOOOOW?

So I was able to get everything finished up and off my coffee table. I really like how the project turned out. No one had made Castle Crasher sprites yet and I think these look pretty accurate. Examining the actual colors used in the game, I got pretty lucky with how well the Perler Bright Green and Butterscotch matched the original characters. Glad to be done with it, but proud as well. To tell ya the truth it was a nice distraction these past few days. My dad had a heart attack last weekend and life was pretty hectic up until Wednesday. I pretty much lived in the hospital waiting room until he was out of surgery. I couldn't even think straight, much less write. His surgery went well, downgraded from a quintuple bypass to a triple, but he's been diagnosed with diabetes so life will be a harder from here on out. (I still gotta figure out how to make an entire diabetes friendly Thanksgiving.) But I admit most of this project was finished while in a "I gotta think of something else, anything else" zombie-like state. I think I'll always remember how relieved I was that he made it through surgery, every time I look at this piece.

Those sprites are awesome!

Sorry to hear about your dad though. I was looking for a diabetic pumpkin cheesecake recipe I once made for my pre-diabetic mother (it's particularly difficult for us to have cake together since she can't eat much sugar and artificial sweeteners give me headaches) but I did find this: http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/planning-meals/holiday-meal-planning/enjoying-thanksgiving.html

Good luck!

So very sorry to hear about your dad, but I'm glad the surgery went well. Sending lots of good thoughts to you and all your family!
