Someone on Sprite Stitch mentioned it too, I felt bad for the artist. I'm sure she's just a little new to stitching. I'm impressed that she could come up with this pattern, even a veteran cross stitcher might not have the savvy to come up with something so cute and clever.
Actually, the original image was made by a friend of mine years ago. He's even had a t-shirt company in the past rip off his image with out giving him any credit. After confronting them they discontinued the line.
Good job on the cross stitch pattern adaptation though.
