The lovely lady who purchased a set of Mega Man 2 Robot Master panels sent a picture of what it looks like on the wall! She said her husband, whom she bought it for (what a birthday gift!), was thrilled. Check out my Etsy if you’re interested in some of your own.

You guys are the first to see my latest completed project! This set of Mega Man 2 panels depicting the Boss Select screen, recreated in Perler beads, was commissioned through my Etsy page. Sadly, since I do not own them, I can’t put them on my wall so you can see what that would look like, but you can get an idea if you take a peep at the Mega Man 9 project I did a few years ago.
I think my buyer will be pleased! So glad I got this done before PAX.

Capcom Unity has announced there’s a new Twitter feed for all things Resident Evil! Check out out here: Resident Evil Twitter Feed or just look at the pretty pictures (all from upcoming RE games) above.

Capcom Officially Announces Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Now that evil has taken residence on the 3DS, you’d think Capcom would be focusing on their upcoming Nintendo endeavors, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and Resident Evil: Revelations. Lucky for us, that’s dead wrong, as Capcom has announced a new title coming to Xbox 360, PC, and Playstation 3, called Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Plays take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier as they deal with the disaster at post-break out Raccoon City.

Accompanying this news is a tidbit on the 3DS Resident Evil titles. Capcom will be shipping Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D with a demo of Resident Evil: Revelations, allowing a sneak peek at the first all original RE 3DS title.

Expect Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City this upcoming winter.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas Up In This Dump

My Kinect has arrived! Look how intently it stares at me with those beady little eyes.

But which one is the REAL Kinect? The world may never know.

I shelled out for the stinkin’ $250 package, one that included Dance Central, Dance Masters, and Kinect Adventures. At first I forgot I was getting KA, and I also forgot that Dance Masters was the dance game at the Konami booth at E3 2010 I was so interested in, so at first I anticipated not having much to play on this bad boy.

Obligatory box opening shots.

Since I’ll now need the space, I moved around the living room to optimize the quickest and safest way to make room.

Past visitors to my home (you know, pizza dudes, adult protective services, and SWAT team) will notice there’s a Christmas tree where my couch and table used to be. The smaller table in between the chair and bean bag can now be easily removed and placed in the corner.

Everything else has been delegated to this nook where my craft table used to be. Was also the open spot where I stored the giant bean bag. Not no more. Note the handy space next to the couch for all my craft supplies, sweet.

Christmas tree! With a theme. One that does not match a bit of the rest of the Christmas themed stuff in the house.

And the aesthetic is destroyed by the lights. As this is a fake tree, it came with them already, and you should have seen the look on my face when I found out they weren’t white.

No matter, I guess…the video game ornaments I’m putting on are multi colored, too. Speaking of which…

These are the new ones. Mega Man from Mega Man Universe, Pac-Man, the Triforce, a Left 4 Dead health pack (which I totes only made because I’m crushin’ on someone who’s obsessed with that game), a Yoshi’s egg, some seeds from Deadly Premonition, and a blue ghost from Pac-Man.

Starting to look a little more formidable eh? Gotta step things up this week though.

My Threadless tees also got here.

As did my Video Girl Ai DVD so I’m just bustin’ out Christmas at the seams today. Notice I got the “We Got Some Work To Do Now” tee that I’ve featured here before.

In other news, I’m totally obsessed with my new Raptr account. You guys have to sign up. And not just ‘cause I need more friends on there, but also because it’s awesome. It syncs all your gaming profiles and let’s everyone know when you’re playing a game, gain an achievement, level up, etc. You can compare scores and stats with your friends, and it even lets you perv on them through their handy chat client, where their status and activity will show you what they’re up to. For instance, a couple of hours ago, fellow Gamer Grrlz writer MorganSkye was browsing Netflix and then switched to Fallout: New Vegas. It’s the handiest tool for a wannabe otaku I’ve ever seen. GO. DO IT. NOW.

Reminder: Deep Down, Capcom Really Hates You

They hate your stinking guts.

At least, this is the only conceivable reason for the continued plans for Rockman Online, the upcoming Mega Man MMO to be released only in South Korea. I’d also accept “knife being held to our throats” and “will somehow prevent epic destruction of planet Earth”. But how fucking likely are those. Not very, that’s right.

Here are some new assets, above the trailer, and below, some artwork (you can see more at The Mega Man Network).

Capcom Releases Dead Rising 2’s Guide To Health And Safety

Hi everyone. I decided to come out of my zombie killing nirvana just long enough to read about killing zombies. I’m completely addicted to Dead Rising 2 and all I can think about is better and faster ways to kill zombies.

Capcom released a “magazine” full of not just hints and tips for the game, but extras including advertisements and  “letters from readers.” Capcom’s upped the awesome content by posting the magazine online so you can scour every page.

Now to get back to my previously scheduled asskicking. Those zombies aren’t going to kill themselves with a chainsaw painted like dick and balls, you know.

All Things Okamiden PAX And TGS 2010

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. The above has just one. “EXHAUSTION”. Just seeing the above (lone) snap I took of the Okamiden PAX 2010 booth makes me remember the disappointingly small amount of time I got to spend at there, mostly due to utter fatigue. I daresay that convention is too much for just one woman. A woman who almost forgot to play Okamiden, despite it being PAX high priority list. I feel sleepy just looking at it. Sleepy, and disappointed. Clearly, fatigue affected my ability to take another shot. Luckily you still get a slight impression of the beautiful Okamiden artwork splashed across the walls.

So, how is the game? I like it a lot better than Okami already. Everything about this DS sequel feels like an improvement, from the “chibi”-izing of the characters, to the color scheme (which relies more heavily on the sakura-toned pinks and cool pastels), to the intuitive use of the Celestial Brush. The map system is much improved, and it’s nice having one available at all times without having to go into the menu. I didn’t get to do much in terms of battle, but not being warped into some little electric pig pen when I encountered enemies was nice. Using the DS’ B button instead of the Wii motion controls was easier and so far I prefer it.

A trail of plants and flowers still blooms as you run, but it’s…well, cuter. It’s all just cuter. And it’s not that I buy or enjoy my games on cute factor alone. Typically the games in my library include the words “eviscerate” or “shameless blood bath” in the descriptor. But in terms of what they’ve done with the art style, this feels like a better direction, both for their intended audience and for the time period they’re depicting. Something about Okami feels too dark now that I’ve seen Okamiden.

With the limited nature of the demo, these are the only details I can give, but they are exactly in line with what we’ve already seen in Okamiden game play videos. I daresay this iteration of Okami will get the attention it deserves.

Below you’ll find a video that’s actually from this past week’s TGS 2010, and a little bit of artwork, followed by a link where you can see more of the new screen shots ‘n sech.

O-kay…Okamiden Book Cover

As said by Joystiq and quoted by Scarlet Pirate, the makers of Okamiden are trying to cute us to death before we ever get to play the game. That’s your game, isn’t it Capcom? Just suffocate us with the cute? This book cover doesn’t even make sense. It doesn’t have anything to do with the game. All a part of their bastardly adorable plan.

Case Zero Out On XLBA

*Cough Cough* Oh, I don’t feel well today.  I think…I think I need to go home early.  What’s that boss?  You know that Dead Rising 2 has their demo/teaser game came out today? And only for $5? I did not know that.  What are you pointing at, my calendar? Oh no, that’s a note to, uh, “call Lero.” Not “Case Zero,” though I could understand how you might see that if you were looking for it.

Sooooo….I mean, now that you’ve brought it up, and I’m just thinking out loud here—that I might be contaminated with the zombie virus.  I mean, how would I know, I’m not a doctor, but I think I should get this….what did you call it? DeeElleCee? I probably should rush home to research it.

What’s that?  You’re giving me extended time off?  Permanently?  Thanks boss, you’re so nice!
