Case Zero: DOOOO IT!!!!

I know there are still some people out there, not sure whether or not to get the Dead Rising 2 DLC. Those of you who knew you wanted it, already got it; and any person within earshot of them, was probably harassed repeatedly over how awesome it was, probably got it too.

But for those of you still on the fence, I implore you—buy it.  It’s sooooo worth it.  If you’re going to play Dead Rising 2 anyway, you might as well get this part too. The DLC gives you a head start by letting you level up (max level 5), which would carry over into the full game.   You can get back into the feel of the game, this time with the ability to actually READ!  (And they made the text HUGE, don’t worry.)  The achievements are easy but fun (kill 1,000 zombies? Don’t mind if I do!) though I did need to look up hints on a few of the crafted items.

Also, the game reminds you how wonderful it feels to slaughter hundreds of zombies.  Mercilessly, unsympathetically murder the hordes of the undead.  With a swinging chainsaw paddle thing. (That’s a real fucking weapon in the game.) Or maybe a moose head.  Oh, I love the moose head.  It lets you run through town, AND impale zombies!

Just don’t be mad at me when you can’t wait for Dead Rising 2 to release, Sept 28th.

Case Zero Out On XLBA

*Cough Cough* Oh, I don’t feel well today.  I think…I think I need to go home early.  What’s that boss?  You know that Dead Rising 2 has their demo/teaser game came out today? And only for $5? I did not know that.  What are you pointing at, my calendar? Oh no, that’s a note to, uh, “call Lero.” Not “Case Zero,” though I could understand how you might see that if you were looking for it.

Sooooo….I mean, now that you’ve brought it up, and I’m just thinking out loud here—that I might be contaminated with the zombie virus.  I mean, how would I know, I’m not a doctor, but I think I should get this….what did you call it? DeeElleCee? I probably should rush home to research it.

What’s that?  You’re giving me extended time off?  Permanently?  Thanks boss, you’re so nice!

Dead Rising 2 Fortune City Sending Out A City Map

The game may not be coming out til until September 28th, but the Fortune City map for Dead Rising 2 is already here.  Check it out for yourself! Zoom in on the directory to find the best stores and see a few familiar places; the Army Surplus store, High Noon Shooting Range, and Ned’s Knicknackery is back.  If I remember correctly, that’s where you got random exotic weapons, including the katana.

If you can’t wait to kick some zombie—butt? face?—whatever, XBLA will release the DLC Case Zero on August 31, which was the original release date for Dead Rising 2.  It will take place 2 years after the first game but 3 years before the second one. You’ll be able to reach level 5, and import your cash and PP (Dead Rising’s version of XP) into the second game. The DLC will only cost 400 Microsoft Points, or $5.

That was a brainy move on their part. I’d give my left arm for the DLC, or maybe a leg. Make sure the waiting doesn’t eat you up inside.

If you haven’t seen any videos or footage of this upcoming point and click (and maim) be sure to check out these two tourism videos for Fortune City, below.
