Stencil Me In For This DIY Classic NES Shirt
Make it, and make it yours, with this stencil and handy tutorial from CraftZine.
It’s Not Christmas Without Mario!

We’ve all had that urge. You know the one. Where you want to Geek-ify something to show just how amazingly awesome you are? Bumper stickers and t-shirts are only a start my friend. If you want to impress your friends and make your family stare at you in shock and awe then you need to start crafting.
It’s time for a Super Mario Christmas!!
The highly skilled Scoochmarroo at Instructables has come up with three tutorials to make your tree look like Yoshi threw up on it…in a good way!!
1) Mario in his Kuribo (or Goomba) Shoe as a stocking. Yes my friends, now you can put more than a small Italian in a Kuribo Shoe. Perhaps on Christmas morning it will also be filled with a Wing Cap or Frog Suit! Kawaii!!
2) Mushroom Ornaments - This craft has no limits. You can go classic with orange and red, modern with greens and reds, or sky high with our own Badfish’s “Know Your Shrooms” Perler project. You can find almost everything you need at Walmart (or another similar Evil Empire store). They’re light weight too, so if you feel like giving some affection to a distant friend you won’t have to spend a fortune on shipping. Nothing says loving like styrofoam 1-ups!
3) Starman Tree Topper - Yes, you read that right. Starman Tree Topper. Nothing I say can make this any more awesome. I will warn you, this project requires a sewing machine and some light electrical skills. Still, it’s totally worth it. Bonus points if you can make it flash.
So get out there and do your best! Ganbatte ne!!

OMG I Just PEWed My Pants: DIY AER9 Laser Rifle From Fallout 3
I know I’m a little late on the whole Fallout 3 thing, but you can blame (or alternately, thank) that game for my absence lately. I’ve barely had time to come up for air. Its been a long time since a game consumed so much of my attention span. Its damn near dethroning my love of Diablo II: LoD, and that game has been a second boyfriend to me for well near seven years now. Look, I even have a brand new kitten and not only did it take me over a week to tell you all, but I also named it Nuka. As in, Nuka Cola:
Luckily, he’s unaffected by the sounds of roaring Super Mutants and constant gunfire, so we hang out a lot.
The above laser gun is made of wood, so unfortunately if you wanna kill someone, you’re gonna have to throw this at their head and hope for a critical strike. However I’m fascinated that it looks so realistic…and suspicious that the “real” AER9 Laser Rifles are secretly just petrified wood.
