Well, I finally got around to starting another New Vegas file, this time on Hardcore and gunning for the NCR. Hardcore mode certainly makes things more interesting but I’m still finding the desert a colder and lonelier place than D.C.
Hopefully I can target some of the achievements that I missed thanks to glitches the first time around.

Well, war may never change in the Fallout universe, but in THIS one, the war over Bethesda’s rights to the series is finally over. Interplay, the makers behind the Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics, have given up their bid to continue work on the Fallout MMO, instead accepting a $2 million dollar settlement in exchange for distribution rights on the first three titles for at least another year. The decision, a bid to keep both sides out of a costly legal battle, will see Bethesda retain all ownership post-2013. Said Robert Altman, Chairman and CEO of ZeniMax Media, Bethesda’s parent company:
“While we strongly believe in the merits of our suits, we are pleased to avoid the distraction and expense of litigation while completely resolving all claims to the Fallout IP,” said Robert Altman, Chairman and CEO of ZeniMax Media. “Fallout is an important property of ZeniMax and we are now able to develop future Fallout titles for our fans without third party involvement or the overhang of others’ legal claims.”
And so, the hard-to-conceptualize-but-fuck-I’ll-play-it-anyway MMO is not meant to be. Probably for the best. Is anyone genuinely disappointed by this?

After some disappointing DLC delays the final chapter in the Fallout: New Vegas saga is finally upon us. On September 20, you can travel that Lonesome Road on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 for $9.99. Additionally, on September 27 you can pick up two content packs, Courier’s Stash, which gives you all the pre-order packs, and Gun Runners’ Arsenal, which adds more unique weapons, ammo types, mods, and recipes. The boys over at Duck and Cover are claiming they have screen shots from Honest Hearts before Bethesda has gone live with it.
