Mass Effect 3 - How It Should’ve Ended
by Hellstern
When I’m bored, I play video games. When Harrison Krex of Volpin Props is bored, he makes acrylic cut video game earrings, in this case the Renegade Star and Paragon Wing from Mass Effect, and the Companion Cube from Portal.
Did you hear he’s going to be at PAX East, btw? Be sure to check out the panel From Pixels to Props: Creating Realistic Gaming Replicas at the Manticore Theatre on Sunday. April 8, at 1:30pm - 2:30pm. I know I’ll be going!
Check it out, Mass Effect 3 has a reversible cover! Now you can choose whether your cover Shep has boy or girl parts. And Bioware says the dual sided cover will be available for all versions of the game.

You know, i thought the 11-11-11 release date for Skyrim was kinda clever, but this is just brilliant. Releasing a Mass Effect 3 demo on the day of love. I’ll bet some of you have big plans tonight…now.
Head over to PSN or XBLA to check it out.

Volpin Props has done it again, this time with a red N7 Rifle, from Mass Effect 3. Check out the Flickr set for progress shots.

The “male version” of Mass Effect’s lead character, shortened to Shepard, has long been the face (sexy sexy face) of the series, usually the default in marketing materials and on the cover. Switching things up a bit, Bioware marketing director David Silverman has announced that both male and female Shepard will grace the cover of the Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition box. Additionally, FemShep will be receiving her own trailer!

Before you start yelling FAKE!, this leaked Mass Effect 3 cover art is currently sitting on the EA server. And notice it has the Kinect’s standard purple bar confirmed Kinect compatibility. It’s a small picture, but it does read “Better With Kinect Sensor”, which sounds to me like the game won’t be solely Kinect controlled, but will be in some respect.
Now exactly what would that Kinect compatibility entail?

Bioware has announced a delay on Mass Effect 3. Initially expected in 2011, the game is now expected in the beginning of 2012:
“Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.” —official Mass Effect Facebook page
Mass Effect 3 is painfully far away, but the merch is already starting to roll in. Dark Horse has announced a new SSV Normandy model for a mere $34.99 ($27.99 with pre-order).
While it’s marked as the “SR-2” the accuracy doesn’t seem quite right, so I’m hoping this is either a prototype image or a possible clue as to how Normandy will look in ME3. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Normally I’d let Morgan Skye be the one to post Mass Effect 3 related business (she is our resident expert/fangirl after all), but I wasn’t sure if she’d seen these yet, and I kind of wanted to surprise her. I guess you could say I did it for…wait for it…mass…effect!
OK now I’m not even cracking me up.
At any rate, here’s two screen shots from Mass Effect 3.
