Cake before Swordfish? I totally spoiled his dinner.
(Actually the animation turns the food into a slice of cake before they swallow it, I just happened to get a lucky shot, ha).
Since Lunar Lakes has kind of a “space” theme to it, I’m redecorating my Sims home accordingly. Downstairs in the living room, I’m going with a more ’60s moon madness theme, complete with retro television set and record player. I need to change out the couch and deepen that marine blue on the walls but after that the room will almost be complete.
Oh so bored without Showtime. I do recommend picking up Lunar Lakes though.
My Sim spent a quiet day fishing for puddle shark.
Still waiting on my copy of The Sims 3 Showtime :( Apparently it was sent to my editor’s house and he was at GDC all week. So, I’ve been hanging out in China while I wait. World Adventures is one of my favorite Sims expansions ever and I haven’t spent nearly enough time there, especially now that the excavation bug is fixed. I was a bit of an archaeology nerd growing up, so WA was kind of a dream come true. You know, in the lame virtual sense. All the same I love it.
A few screen shots from Lunar Lakes, The Sims 3.
The new Sims 3 update adds a lot of the social features promised for Showtime, including achievements. The pop culture references abound! I love the first one I got, referencing Seinfeld.
In addition to the achievements, you can now chat with friends in-game, write on their wall, and generally dick around and distract them from what they’re doing. It’s unnecessary, but it’s functional for the most part. They also added new Vegetarian recipes, Tofu, and Banana trees. I’ve yet to grow one though. I even spotted a new tool in the Building section, meant to make surrounding tiles adapt to the modification made on just one. Will update as I find more changes.
I asked, she delivered. And then some! I asked my lovely friend PixelPixies if she had a funny picture of a Sim eating (for illustration in an upcoming Dtoid feature piece), and she went out of her way to take this one for me. I can’t get over how perfect it is!
My friend PixelPixies has got to be one of the most creative Simmers on the planet. She not only puts all my Sims files to shame, she also presents them so creatively that I could just weep with pure jealousy. A new town is coming to The Sims Store soon, Lunar Lakes! No word on release date yet but so far it looks kinda cool. Are those hot springs?
