For those of you fixing to get your grubby mitts on more Sims Medieval news, you may want to read this Gamespot article. The Sims Going Medieval In New Spin-Off Title

Fuck. Now I’m gonna have to learn to spell medieval.

Confirming earlier rumors (which I had an explicit hand in circulating), The Sims are making the move to medieval, hearkening back to a simpler time where jousting was an acceptable form of solving conflict and any health problem could be solved with leeches.

Says Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio at EA:
“The Middle Ages is a time of intrigue, legend, and excitement. It offers a perfect backdrop for a brand new series from The Sims studio due to the limitless stories that can be told, The Sims Medieval offers a new way for players to experience The Sims which we hope fans will enjoy, and it features gameplay that fans of strategy and role-playing games will find appealing such as controlling an entire kingdom and quest-based gameplay mechanics.”
Players will control and build their kingdom while overseeing subjects of all walks of life, from lowly Bards to the King himself, while completing missions and daily tasks tailored to the medieval life. The quest starts this upcoming Spring 2011 when The Sims Medieval pillages its way to PC. Until then, check out the box art, and a few screenshots below.

As a side note to other Sims fans, can you think of any other spin-off in Sims history? Maybe The Urbz for PS2? This isn’t quite a series first but it’s close.
